Urine samples left at the reception will no longer be tested unless requested by a clinician. This means that patients who feel like they have a urine infection will now need to speak to a clinician who will then decide whether a sample should be provided.
If you provide a urine sample to the reception without it being requested by a clinician – you will be contacted and told to arrange a telephone appointment to discuss any concerns you may have.
Paediatric (under 16 years old) urine samples will continue to be tested by a nurse as long as sufficient clinical data is provided.
